Mortgage Decision Help
I'm a freelance writer who'll be moving to San Francisco in 3 months time. I'm a single mom with 2 kids and we'll be renting a small place to stay in for the first couple of months but I have plans of getting our own home; however, I've been self employed for 2 years now and an online contractor. I'm not sure if there are banks that would grant mortgage loans to someone with the same career as me since most banks I've spoken to would only deal with company employees and not freelancers.
I'm trying to see if there are reputable credit unions you can recommend? I've heard they are more flexible and lenient when it comes to mortgage loans or any type of loan for that matter.
I have a good credit score without existing debts and I also have funds saved up for emergencies and money left to spend as part of the home equity but banks have an issue with my employment status.
