Pittsburgh, Great Area To Investment Now

I lived in this city and surrounding counties for 16 years before relocating to Philly for Senior level positon.

Pittsburgh is the second largest city in Pennsylvania. It was the BOOMING city in the 70's and 80's for it mass steel production and many football championships than. However, it's almost became a GHOST town when U.S. steel market went South.

With Google, Carnegie University Innovations and other high tech companies coming to its aid, this town is coming alive with lots of Asian Investors pouring in.

If you are investor looking to invest in Pittsburgh and surrounding, here are few hints:

1. If looking for properties to rehab and rent, look in the:

A. Hills District, Garfield, Highland Park, East Liberty, Mount Oliver, Carrick and Carnegie ,. These are within 1 - 5 miles from  downtown. Some properties here might be in bad shapes but cheap. University Of Pennsylvania, Carnegie University students and High Tech Engineers moving there and looking for properties rent/lease. In 5-10 years the Hill District and Garfield will be part of downtown because the city is expanding to the EAST(towards GOOGLE office).

2. For retail properties, look along PENN AVENUE , between the Strip District and East Liberty, especially around the Children Hospital/Lawrenceville. Carnegie also has gas stations and vacant auto dealerships. Penn Hills has lots of vacant auto repairs and shopping centers. Moon township also.

3. If looking for upscale residence, look in South Hill Village, Sewickley, McKnight Road, Baldwin, White Hall, Penn Hills,  and Monroeville. Best of all, check towards the airport or past the air a bit. Beautiful homes.

Pittsburgh and surrounding are great places to invest. It is my home town. Was just there for 2 months and will be there in April for a week to network.

It is the STEELERS NATION. You will love IT !!!
