Worried about FHA loan underwriter?

Hi there!

My mother is going to be a coborrower on my loan. We will be using all her income/assets. We almost didn't get approved because of the debt/income ratio. My mom pays rent in the house that she lives in.

We got preapproved, but I'm worried that the underwriter is going to want proof of rent. Three tenants are on the lease for her house, but she pays 1200 dollars in a check every month to landlord and her sister pays 700 in a check back to her. She will only get approved if we can prove that she can pay $500 in rent or less. Will they be hard on us that we have a backwards way of paying rent? Thanks for any insight!
