Steps through buying or selling residential real estate

Hi everybody,

Hope all is well! I've been reading on BP and I'm enjoying the discussions throughout the site. I wanted to reach out to you all for a step by step explanation in purchasing/selling residential real estate from hiring a realtor, putting in an offer, deposit monies, attorney review, home inspections, all up through closing. Explain it to me like I am a 10 year old! I want to be thorough to make the process as smooth as possible. Of course I have just listed a few of the steps here, but would love to hear your thoughts from your personal and business experiences. Cheers!

I think you are probably better served with a "Real Estate for Dummies" type book, which goes through all of this. You're asking for a pretty massive post to cover all the intricacies of REI.
