Old vs. New Condo Construction

What are thoughts on purchasing a condo in an older building (100+) that has been updated vs. a newer building (10-12 years old)? There's a 10-15K price differential otherwise the specs are roughly the same. 

I am in Chicago, so older construction is everywhere, but there are some newer buildings. They're just not quite as plentiful as the older ones.
