Close date while I will be out of Texas
I recently put an offer on a house (in Texas) and we are done with all paper work needed to get loan approved but escrow is not closed yet. I already had my vacation planned to go back to California. My concern is that my lender told me closing data which is when I will be in California. He stated that we cannot sign papers out of Texas , then later he said that I can sign papers out of Texas, while I am in California but there will be charge of $100-$150 ?
Is that true ? Are we allowed to sign papers out of Texas ? If so is there a fee?

Yes you can sign while out of state. I would assume the fee rthat you are being charged is for a mobile notary to bring the docs for you to sign and notarize where needed
