Getting a real estate license or not?

Hello, I was wondering what are the thoughts, from everyone, about obtaining a real estate license. I am in the Orange County, CA area and have seen and heard you do not need a real estate license to be an investor. Are there any cons about getting one other than the time it takes. My potential thought was to list and sell the house myself instead of spending the extra money on an agent to do it for me. The other thought was also to help fellow investors by providing a less expensive fee for a continued relationship to sell multiple houses together. Is there potential in doing so?
