Should I buy a converted single family home?

The home was converted to a single family in the 80's from a 2 family. Currently, there is one kitchen on the first floor. I would like to purchase this property but I am not sure if I should buy it because I want to converted it back to a 2 family. Should I buy this house asking price $350,00.00 when it was assessed at 266,500.00?
