Question about HUD bid - Can you see how many bids have already been placed?

Hello,

Looking at bidding on a HUD property. My understanding is that once a bid is placed, you can see from your confirmation number "xxx--002, xxx--008 etc" how many previous bids were placed, is this correct?

Is it possible to see this BEFORE actually placing a bid? If not, is it possible to place a bid, and then if you see a relatively high confirmation number "xxx--018", seeing there have already been 17 other bids, can you jump back in and immediately place a higher bid? Or do you only get one shot?
