Real Estate Agent 2nd Time Around...Help
Hello All,
As you may have read from my former posts, I was formerly an agent and made 0 sales. I am in the 60 hour course now (giving myself two weeks to complete, as it's online and majority of the information I remember) and plan to take the state board exam within a month's time. To all that work with a great real estate agent or consider themselves a great real estate agent, what advice do you have for me? I have three kids, am married, and will be going back to school (as well as working full time) in September. I don't want to pull another goose egg this year and want to be successful in my agency endeavors. Please provide advice!
Thanks!
Stephanie

FOCUS
It sounds like you are all over the place a little bit.
Doing a little bit of this and little bit of that gets you nowhere.
I am not in the top 1% for income earners because I work part time here or there. I am because I eat, breathe, sleep commercial real estate. Every time someone talks to me or meets me they can feel the passion I have for it. People want to work with others who love what they do because they know things will be performed at a very high level. I constantly learn. I am reading 3 books right now about commercial real estate.
I open my mind everyday and start with what can I learn today to make me better?? Everyday I pick something new up.
If you want a level of success that few achieve you will not get there being mediocre. Not saying you are at all just that I hear often I want to be successful but they do not have what it takes.
You said "going back to school". Did you mean the 60 hour agents course you are taking for licensing or another profession entirely??
I was working out at the gym the other day and this lady my age was talking to someone about working 3 jobs. One was an anesthesiologist, another a personal trainer, and another something else I can't remember. This lady was jack of all trades and master of none and running herself into the ground.
There are only 24hrs in a day. The body can't sustain over 8 hour work schedules forever especially as we age. So the trick is to not work 3 jobs making 20 bucks an hour. The key is to get awesome at one profession that makes you thousands per hour. This gives you free time from your income to spend with family and have a balanced work/life schedule.
I think you need to pick one thing and go with that. Either pick your job career and stick to that only and use real estate for investments or decide to go ALL IN for a full time agent. People use this full time or part time job thing as a crutch and never break free. It is scary going for it but when you make it the feeling is unbelievable.
I went into Atlanta the other day for a meeting and was stuck in traffic. I saw the sea of cars where people spend 2 hours going there and 2 hours back to after taxes probably make 20k or 30k a year ( rat race ). I thought to myself if I had to do that I would just go work at a restaurant next to the beach and make the same money but at least I could relax versus that mess. I am glad some people can do that kind of commute but for me no way. I would rather deliver pizza than that stuff! lol
