Disbarred Real Estate Agent

Hi Everyone,

I recently found a real estate agent I think I would work really well together. She has a plethora of knowledge in many aspects of real estate (law, mortgage brokerage, investing), and actually listens to what I'm looking for.

However, an internet search reveals that she no longer practices real estate law because she resigned/was disbarred for "engaging in conflict of interest in a real estate transaction and neglect."

What is your take on that? I'm one of those people who like to give others the benefit of the doubt, and I'm mostly likely going to ask her about it flat out - what are some responses from her I should be weary of if she acts as my buyers agent?

Disbarred? Maybe you mean had her license revoked? Disbarred is a term commonly used to attorneys. They are members of the BAR. As to your post, you state she no longer practices law. Is she an agent or attorney. She might have been an attorney and got disbarred. I am not sure if that would keep her from getting licensed as an agent. I would have reservations about using her services. Your post states she had a conflict of interest as well as neglect in her actions. That is enough for me to find another agent. You want to find someone you feel will operate honestly, ethically, skillfully, etc to help you. BTW, I suspect one would have to act in a VERY bad manner to actually get disbarred rather than fined, have their license suspended for a period of time, etc. This one scares me:)
