Marketing a property after purchase contract signed
I once made a written offer for real estate and the seller countersigned. The agent never asked for the escrow money and kept it on the MLS as active (non-pending) for a month until the close. I'm curious if the agent could have "voided" my purchase contract (because I hadn't paid the earnest money) and taken a higher offer while we were working on the close.
