Public Eviction Filings in NYC

Hello Everyone!

So yesterday I went to the local housing court in Manhattan (NYC) to look for public eviction filings.

I had access where I could search for either case # or name. It didn't let me search by zip code, neighborhood, etc... So I typed in "SMITH" into the last name field and the computer started searching for a very long time and finally retrieved information.

This seemed quite ineffective to me, not to mention hanging out in that building wasn't too pleasant. Is there any more efficient way in capturing this type of data online? If someone familiar with the NYC market would be able to point me in the right direction, I would be very appreciative.

Thanks!

Bernard
