Tax question on equity/real estate sell profit
So I will be selling my house which I've lived in for 5 yrs here in Florida within the next 6 months. I should walk away with significant profit. My concern is that this profit will be taxed at my tax rate. Is this correct?
Would I be better off pulling the equity out prior to selling? I am simply trying to avoid paying high tax on the equity I've gained over the last 5 years. All advise is appreciated.
