Retiree-Investors Need Advice
Hubby and I are retirees in our mid-60s and for the past couple of years have owned 2 occupied rentals in SoCal: an SFR and a condo. Both have mortgages, and since we live in AZ, property managers. My sister and I co-own free and clear an inexpensive condo that will be sold and 3 not-so-nice occupied rental mobile homes--all in NorCal--that were left to us by our brother who died last year. Hubby and I also own our home without a mortgage.
We're pleased with how our rentals are performing and had hoped to move into one of the SoCal properties within a few years, but in the meantime, we need additional income. Due to unforeseen extended family issues, I don't feel comfortable leveraging anything for more property at this point (although I'm always looking for something suitable) or investing more than $50k or so in a low-risk project.
I'm open to all suggestions. Please keep in mind, though, that our time and energy are really limited at this point. Thank you.
