transaction on behalf of someone else

I entered into a transaction on behalf of my relatives (same last name) with a realtor (realtor no 1). My relatives offer was accepted. Once escrow was opened, my relative ended up not funding the transaction because she did not have the money available. After about 1 month, my wife and I decided the property would be a good place for ourselves (not the relatives). I felt like realtor no 1 was too aggressive from dealing with her on behalf of my relatives. My wife never met nor spoke to realtor no 1, but we decided to contact the broker directly. He referred us to another realtor who happened to be his wife. Our offer was excepted and we closed the transaction. Recently, i got a call from the broker asking questions because the realtor no 1 reported him to the state ethics commit. I don't want to get anyone into trouble, just did not want to deal with the realtor no 1 because of my previous experience i had when i dealt with realtor 1 on behalf of my relatives. I would like to know if I could be liable for anything?
