Settling an estate

my question is about settling an estate. My mom just passed recently and her home is totally paid for so no loan. Well we have someone who wants to buy it but the lawyer says we cant sell it for 2 more months. I dont get why if its free and clear and it is the last thing to settle everything. Does anyone know why? And this is in ohio

Just went through this. It all has to go through probate and they need to make sure she didn't owe anything to credit cards etc. everything is done through courts (not sale of house but transfer of title to family, or executors ability to put it on market) and the estate lawyer should be able to explain that all to you.
