Buyer agent commission

Hi, I am in the process of buying a single family home as an investment property. I am working with a buyer agent, who has sent me a buyer agreement. The agreement states that as  buyer I am required to pay the real estate broker a commission of 5% or at least 2500$. I thought that the commission was paid by the seller and then split between the seller and buyer broker? or is there some thing I missed?
