Is the real estate market just too good to be true right now?

Let me start off by saying that I am extremely new to all of this. I just had lunch with a couple of very successful investors so I can ask questions blah blah blah , basic REI 101 suff. I left feeling a little discouraged after them telling me that the market has about 6 months to a year window before it crashes again and it's probably not a good time to invest. "real estate market is good, way too good, too good to be true...". Thoughts anyone?

Nobody knows where the market will be in 6, 12 or 36 months...

That said, in any real estate market, it's either going to be tough to find deals (seller's market) or sell deals (buyer's market).  These days, it's tough to find deals, and for many investors, that's a big obstacle.

If you are willing to work hard to find deals, they're out there.  And getting them sold will be easy.  But, if you're more interested in having deals fall in your lap (like things were a couple years ago), it's no longer that time...
