May I get partial resort fee credit back after I sold my condotel?

I owned a condotel unit in SC resort. it is closet to the beach. I had the ownership for 11 months until I  sold it out last November. Since i still own another unit in the same resort, I received a letter from their management company last week telling owners will get 60% of resort fee credit back. for my unit in year 2014, it is $900.00. But the management company said the credit usually is given only when an owner still owns the unit at the time of the payout. This $900.00 goes to current owner's account, even he only had the ownership for 1.5 month during off peak season. Could you tell me if it is my right to get the proportional credit back? if so, how could i work on it?

Thanks!!!
