Follow up letter / questionnaire

Does anyone send a follow up letter / questionnaire after they have met with a seller?  What I am asking is, say you got a call from a direct mail piece and you met with the seller but for one reason or another where not able to come to an agreement.  Do you then send that seller a letter or questionnaire saying thank you for meeting with us and sorry we were not able to come to an agreement and if you do not mind please feel out this questionnaire?  And, basically the questionnaire just has a list of questions asking the seller how you did, where their questions answered, did they feel you were professional, ect...

I remember listening to a podcast my Michael Quarles where he said he used a questionnaire and I was just wondering if anyone else did.  If so, how have they done for you?  Have you gotten good responses or do sellers just throw them away?

Thanks
