Pennsylvania: Do you file a mechanics lien at time of closing?

Both my mentor and our mutual real estate attorney both strongly recommended filing a mechanics lien at time of closing.  My wife is the buyer and I am the contractor.  I plan on asking them to fully explain why this is, but I wanted to get outside opinions as well.  This is also a Pennsylvania specific situation.

Thanks in advance!

Are you worried your wife is not going to pay you for the work you are doing?  Why do you want this?

I believe this type of lien stays in effect until the lien holder is paid for services rendered.  A failure to pay for services would allow the lien holder to maintain their security interest.  I am not a lawyer though so consult others as well.
