Have you bought property from family? Did it change the dynamics of the relationship?

Would you buy a rental property from a family member? My wife's grandparents have a triplex that they have been trying to sell for 75k for a long time. It is located out of state about 5 hours from me. I would use a property manager. It is a triplex so I imagine at that price it should be easy to cashflow. They are in their 70's and have always done all of the work themselves. While I have explained getting a PM company they would rather just sell. Is it a bad idea to buy from family?
