option for old duplex

We bought this duplex plus with garden unit in Park Ridge,IL. It is prime uptown location close to everything. It is in our (wife and I) retirement account. It was build 1895 I bought it last year of May. I am thinking to continue to owned it and keep it or demolished and build 3 or more townhouse What are advises regarding old building you can give It does not have any mortgage but I do not have money for construction It is cash flowing good Thanks  for your help
