Don't make this stupid mistake
I am set to close on my house on Friday. My realtor emails me a copy of the closing statement and a forward from the title company saying the selling bank wants the money wired to an escrow account a couple days early to verify funds and make closing easier. I know. I know. But I didn't think twice about it. Well long story short I get an email that there is a problem. I call my realtor and he says "what wire". The hucksters were in a branch in Loredo about to make off with tens of thousands. A quick thinking manager decided to call my bank and verify their story. If not for that save my money would have been in the wind. The whole thing was a hack job. I lost a lot of hair today but am counting my blessings.
