Visalia Buy and Hold Help

I currently invest/live in Hanford/Lemoore outside of Fresno and Visalia. As I just got a job at Tulare county in Visalia. I am looking to relocate to Visalia to reduce my 45 min commute. know there are lots of investors who buy in this area. I am finding Visalia *very* different from the Lemoore/Hanford area.

I will be living alone since my husband will be deployed. So where do you recommend I look for a good safe neighborhood with the best schools.  IAny suggestions?
