How to avoid capital gains tax on primary residence after 1 year?

Hello,

My wife and I would like to move (not forced due to job) out of our condo that we have only lived in for 1 year. Do you know of any way that we can avoid capital gains tax without having lived in it for 2 years? Are there any things we can do to create a "capital loss" that would offset our gain? Thanks
