When Someone Says They Have A Bazillion Dollars From Real Estate . . .

First understand that people lie, oops I mean, "fake it 'til they make it"

It doesn't matter if it's number of units, SubTo deals, net worth, number of doors, or any measurement of success. Remember, it is not Bigger Pocket's job to vett all of the claims on Bigger Pockets. Use your best judgement. Ask for verification.

Secondly, the only thing that really matters is how much winds up in your pocket AFTER the property is sold, fees are paid, mortgages are paid off and taxes are paid.

"Equity shrinks pretty quickly when you sell".

Thirdly, anybody tooting their own horn wants something from you . . . your money.

Now, since I have 10,000,000 houses and $100,000,000,000 in equity, I can verify this is true.

Seriously folks, question everything in life and you'll love me for learning that principal.

You may ask, is the person answering my post an expert and is their opinion good? No, but it's their opinion and that makes it true to them. That is just not good enough for you. You have to, have to, have to, weigh their opinion against your experience, goals and other's input.

People who lead organizations got there by following the status quo, and making the same limited assumptions as the people before them. The world is not static. Real estate is even less so. The real estate world is changing.
