Help with getting a heloc
Hi Biggerpockets community. This is my first time posting to this group. Ive been trying for years to use my home equity to start investing in other propeties or apt buildings.;however, my issue is that I dont have good credit and since im self employed I make.very little income. Ive tried to get a steady job to steady income and fox credit but thay hasnt worked out.
Can I not get acceas to my Equity without these issies being solved or are there other avenues to acesss my equity funds to statt buying properties?
Any help or feedback is greatly appreciated..

A traditional bank will not give a line of credit even if there is significant equity because it boils down to being able to pay back the money.
Which I also would tell you that if you have trouble managing finances and poor credit I strongly advise against real estate as its capital intensive and if you struggle now managing money having more money and real estate only exacerbates that issue. Focus on saving $, building your credit and getting steady work.
