Making sense of renting my house out to rent another

Does it make sense to rent my current house out in Poconos, PA so we could rent an apartment in Florida? I’m thinking about moving to Florida and renting out my house in Poconos to cover a fraction of rent in Florida. I want my children to attend good school there and that comes at a cost. Will this prevent me from saving for the down payment for the future house? Should I just sell the house in PA and buy something affordable in North Carolina?

Thank you!
