Communicate with you tenants!
**Rant Alert**
I HATE showing a property for sale or lease when the current tenants have NO IDEA I'm coming. They're sleeping, on a Zoom call, furious at me, or worse, outright refuse to let me in.
I'm a Realtor, investor, and property manager. MY tenants and my clients' tenants are NEVER surprised when we show a unit. I always text or email (depending on the tenant's preference) the day before any showing.
By not communicating with the tenants, landlords and property managers are shooting themselves in the foot. Whether you're trying to sell or lease the unit, a prospective buyer/tenant will be IMMEDIATELY turned off if the current tenant opens the door and says, "What the heck, I was never told you were coming."
BE BETTER THAN THIS. IT'S NOT THAT HARD.
Rant over.
