Pulling my own permits and doing work myself

So if I pull permits and my work passes inspection, is there going to be an issue I’m not aware of? I know ur supposed to live there a year if you sign the homeowner thing, but ur allowed to pull for contractors also. And can I get away with only getting permits on new electric & moving plumbing, but demo,  erect walls myself and things like that?
