Hey! I have some good news to share with you. I recently heard about an interview with the NAR president, and they have sent a letter to HUD advocating for more flexible financing on buyer agent commissions. The good news is that HUD has responded positively to this letter. They stated that commissions and fees, as long as they are in line with state and local laws and are reasonable, wouldn't be treated as interested party contributions. This could make transactions smoother and open up new ways to structure deals, making things easier for buyers and agents. Although we won't see any drastic changes immediately, it's clear that the conversation is moving forward and could lead to significant shifts in how we do business. I thought you'd want to know since this could significantly impact our work soon!
