Seller Financing Tax Question
We recently bought a new build in Texas, used our HELOC for the down payment, then turned around and sold it through seller financing. Received a down payment from the buyer and used that to pay back some of our HELOC because their down payment was not as much as ours. Do I have to claim the down payment as income since it was used to pay back a loan?
