How should I contact the owner?

Is it okay for me to text motivated seller leads first followed by a phone call afterwards once they have expressed interest in a phone conversation in the text message? I sometimes call people first then they do not answer their phones due to them not being available at that moment. I figured I would text first and let them know I can work out a time to discuss the reason I am contacting them through a phone call. I don't like catching people at inconvenient times, so I figured I would text first then call later if they are interested in phone conversations. That's easier for me personally. I know everyone else has their own way what works best for them.
