House is condemned

Posted

Hey y’all. First time posting here. I went under contract on a home in June with the idea of closing asap. The sellers needed to delay closing a few times, which was ok. There was a shed out back of the property that was condemned by the city when I looked at it, we figured it needed to be brought down anyway. We finally closed on it today, 7/11, and there were new signs on the house now saying the building was condemned in May. The posted date of that sign on the house was 7/10, while the shed still had its original sign and posted date of 5/17. It makes me think the signs were pulled off the house by the owner or agent during the marketing and selling period, as it was quite a shock to find all this out today. How big of an issue is it that the city condemned the home, and, is there any recourse or consequences to the sellers/agent for pulling down the signs?
