Short Term Rentals in Jacksonville, FL

Hi

I'm an out-of-state investor (PA). I come to Jacksonville for work on average 2wks/month and was thinking of buying in Jacksonville. I would stay for 2wks and try to rent out the other time I'm not there - whether through Airbnb or VRBO. As of now, I anticipate coming to Jax 2wks/month through next year. I've been doing so most of this year.

I read some older forum posts regarding Jacksonville - and wanted to hear if this is still a viable market.

Concerns were: Flooding, Insurance prices, Hurricanes

Inclination was towards buying something like a condo/apartment that would be easy to rent out. I'm not necessarily looking for immediate cash return but something that would be worth it long term and appreciate well.

I would be out of state and would need a reliable property management company or an agency that specializes in short term rentals. Any recommendations or thoughts?

I don't have any experience with short term rentals - I do have a single family home in TX that I rent out and purchased a pre-construction property - also in TX.

Thank you!
