Co-op’s for long/medium term rentals?

Hey guys I’m still pretty new to all this and am looking for creative ideas in my expensive market. I was wondering what your opinions on trying to invest in a co-op are? (As a long or medium term rental). Has anyone found success with co-ops or are they something that should typically be avoided? Also is there any way to get a look into their bylaws without going through a whole purchase/inspection process? Any information/feedback is greatly appreciated! Thank you!
