Scheduling the home inspection
Hi guys. I'm purchasing a new build home and got a great rate lock that is expiring on 5/01. The home is almost complete, but the seller and the builder have not given me an exact closing date. I want to schedule a home inspection on 4/07 to make sure all the major concerns are identified and fixed. That will give them about 2 weeks to fix the discrepancies. My family thinks I should wait and not rush them.
I'm trying to factor in the time I need for the lender to process the paperwork before closing date. Any recommendations on scheduling timelines so I don't lose my rate lock?
