Software that helps me find in-fill lots to build on

Is there software that helps me find in-fill lots in neighborhoods that I can build on?  Or is there a more efficient way to find empty lots than driving for dollars?  I am trying to do this on the computer instead of driving around the entire county.

Could you get that from county tax records? Seems like they would keep a list of property improvements.
