2022 Buy and Hold Markets

I am a new investor looking to buy his first buy and hold property in 2022. I am focusing my strategy on single family homes to start and I hope to delve into duplexes later. 

I have been researching markets across America for the last few months and have found some opportunities, but nothing I feel totally confident in. My question for the BP community is what markets are you focusing on in 2022? Which areas are you looking to invest in and why? Do you have any tips for first time investors looking to buy and hold + scale up?
