Negotiations on 25 SFH's

I have been working on a 25 property SFH portfolio for about 6 months now. My partner and I have it locked up at 1.9 million, original asking price was 2.3 mil. They are open to owner financing and we have reached agreeable terms. The sticking point for them is they want the down payment to come direct out of our pocket. We are financing the down payment which still works but they feel were are not invested enough if its not our money. Money is money, but how do I convince them of that? They feel the risk is on their end. My negotiating skills are at the limit...
