VA LOAN: Competitive for MULTI UNITS in this market.

Hello BP community!

I am a newer investor with a small portfolio of 1 rental property and looking to expand into buying a duplex by utilizing my VA loan again. Obviously the market is super hot right now and finding a good multi unit deal is difficult but being competitive while using the VA loan makes it even more challenging. I would ideally be offering 10% of asking price to sellers with good multi units but the VA will only finance the appraisal for the house, meaning I will have to come up with the excess funds personally.

Do any investors have experience in this area of something similar? I've been thinking of going to another lender and trying to get a $20k-30k loan to use to stay competitive but was looking to do some research first on my options.

I appreciate any advice! Thank you!
