Cabin vs House Purchase in the Smokies

Kyle Gettings
Posted

Hi,

I have been an investor in Michigan for a couple years and have successfully completed some flips and BRRRR's on long term rentals, but everything has been local. I am looking to purchase a STR in the Smokies (or possibility a different market) but I'm pretty unfamiliar with this type of investment at this point. Do houses make solid investments in this market or is it a better idea to focus solely on cabins? I plan on managing the property myself. Any advice will help. Thanks!
