New to Real Estate Investing

Hi there! As a newbie, I have a couple of ideas of how I’d like to start my real estate investing business. I would like to buy a house, live in it for a year as a main residence, refinance, buy house #2, rent out house #1. Another thing I would like to do is buy a condo in the Bahamas to both rent out and have as my own vacation place. I am unsure which one to go with first, since I don’t think I could buy both at the same time. Has anyone else had to make a similar decision and if so, how did you choose?
