Realistic Cost to Move a Mobile Home

I've been hearing numbers such as $3000 to move a mobile home but would like to hear from investors that have actually done it. I have also heard about parks covering the moving cost to bring new home into the park.

My thoughts are that many MHs might need additional work to be road-worthy again and I imagine there are a bunch of hidden cost you will only find out once you try it.

Please shed some wisdom on this topic.

We move homes almost monthly into our parks. Each area differs a bit, some of that has to do with required set up, permits etc...

In general- and this is to move, set, level and tie down

Single wide- 1,000 to 3,500 to move 50 or less miles

double wide- 3,500 - 5,500 to move 50 or less miles

Be darn sure your mover is licensed and insured, and be sure you have insurance on the home PRIOR to it moving, and your insurance covers crud that happens in a move. I have seen homes pancake, split in half, blow over, smash int overpasses etc... call several movers to get quotes.
