Where do I begin in Real Estate and Property Mgmt?
I'm just going to say it. This can be A LOT. As soon as I received my license and certification, I job searched and found an amazing position (Business Development Manager) with a company that has just taken Monterey County by storm. Innovative and unique to most property management firms, we advocate for owners/investors and are changing the face of property management. Educating and empowering people about misconceptions of property management and what management firms should be doing for property investments are the keys to not only building clientele but also becoming the go-to in your county. I'll post about that another time. Back to the original thought -- As I said, I found this position, and with my 15+ years of sales & sales management under my belt, the transition from product to service sale came easily to me. That being said, real estate and property management are "big dogs". There is a lot, and I mean a LOT to learn and to keep learning. You can follow the pros, you can download a library onto Audible and watch the webinars hosted here on BP. The question I ask myself is this...WHERE DO I START? How do I hone in on this? I'm an almost 40 year old Capricorn woman who loves planners and schedules. I love ORGANIZATION. I love processes. Throwing a bunch of information to me at once just makes me go into the fetal position quite honestly. I'm soaking in as much as I possibly can but I just feel like I need to start somewhere. To take a journey, to start on a path, I need to take a first step. I'm pretty confident that I'm not the only newbie who feels this way. So consider this blog an SOS to everyone. Where do you start? How did you learn the ins and outs? How do you stay on top of all real estate trends etc? I'm exposing my soft underbelly and vulnerability is perceived as "weakness" or even incompetence. Not to me. I'm being 100% transparent with colleagues and leaving myself OPEN to LEARN. Ego aside. I.need.help.
