I’m new! Make me rich!

Hi All,

I’m new to this app and this group. Let me get this out of the way, the title was just to pull you in with those angry thumbs ready to roast the screen.

I am just getting back into real estate after 12 years. My first run in with realestate I spent 6k on a guru from a seminar who basically was just a infomercial for another one of his courses. I then spent 2k on another which was like a bad “I buy your house sign” cult. I spent a lot of money up front trusting people and trying to find help. However, it seems most of these gurus make their money off people trying to get in.

Okay rant aside, my question is for the persons who have made and are making it as a real estate investor. What was your greatest “ah ha” moment which made real estate investing click in your mind. And what was your biggest “uh-oh”.

Any tips, or ideas for me to actually start on this journey?

Thanks for any and all input
