People reviving old posts

Often newbies or promoters jump on and immediately search for posts and then respond without regard to the age of the previous post.

What about having a box pop up that says, "The post you are replying to is X months old, please make sure your reply is still relevant"

I think the system is just fine as-is. Let people post on old topics and we can simply ridicule the people that are obviously self promoting. Simple.
