How to Delete an Empty Table in a Posts

Is there any way to delete an empty table in a post? I recently put up a marketplace add and copied my info from my Loopnet listing, but it doesn't appear that tables are supported, so I tried to delete them. Although I can remove all the information from the boxes, the actual table doesn't go away, and creates a bunch of white space. Is there any way to get rid of this? On a side note, table support in posts would be nice :)
